AI Agents for Sales Operations and RevOps

AI agents for sales operations and RevOps are software agents that complete multi-step operational work, such as CRM hygiene, crediting checks, territory and roster changes, data sync between the CRM and the SPM platform, and recurring reports, and escalate to a person when a decision needs judgment. Lanshore designs, builds, and supports these agents on your existing stack through its Custom Apps and SPM Operations pillars.

Who it is for

Sales operations and RevOps teams whose people spend days each cycle reconciling the CRM against the SPM platform, fixing account ownership, processing roster and territory changes, and rebuilding the same reports. It also fits organizations with an existing UiPath or Power Automate estate that want to move from scripted bots to agents for work that varies, and IT owners who need automations built on supported, documented patterns rather than one-off scripts that only their author can maintain.

The problems it solves

CRM data the comp cycle cannot trust

Missing account owners, duplicate opportunities, and close dates or amounts edited after the fact all flow straight into crediting. A CRM hygiene agent checks closed-won records against your rules before each calculation load, fixes what policy allows it to fix, such as normalizing a field or merging an obvious duplicate, and sends anything that changes who gets credit to a sales ops reviewer with the evidence attached.

Crediting errors found by reps instead of ops

A deal credited in two periods, a split that never posted, a new hire with no crediting rule: reps find these on their statements, which turns a data fix into a dispute. A crediting-check agent runs before statements are staged, compares credits against the crediting hierarchy and the HR roster, and routes each exception to a queue with a suggested fix that a person approves or rejects.

Roster and territory changes that lag

New hires, terminations, transfers, and territory realignments reach the HR system, the CRM, and the SPM platform at different times, so people get paid on stale hierarchies. A roster agent watches for HR and territory changes, drafts the matching updates for the CRM and the comp platform, and holds them for approval. Once approved, it applies them and logs who changed what and when.

Manual sync between CRM, SPM, and finance

When commission data moves between systems through exports and a few people who know the steps, it is slow, error-prone, and exposed to turnover. For one Fortune 500 high-tech company, Lanshore replaced the manual link between financial systems and the CRM with an automated integration that validates every transfer, removing the manual process and the key-person dependency. Agents add judgment on top: explaining a failed sync, not just reporting it.

Reports rebuilt by hand every week

Territory tracking, pipeline coverage, and attainment reports are often rebuilt manually before the sales team can act. At one software company, a daily sales and territory tracking process took 8 to 12 hours across two employees. Lanshore automated the data pulls, matching, and distribution with UiPath so it runs unattended each morning in 20 minutes. Agents extend this pattern to reports that need interpretation, not only assembly.

How Lanshore delivers it

  1. 1

Map the workflow and choose the agent jobs

We start with a process assessment of your sales ops and RevOps work, ranking automation candidates by value and feasibility. Each step is classified: deterministic, rules-based steps go to RPA or workflow orchestration, and steps that need to handle variation or reason over messy data go to an agent. Most programs use both, and we sequence them so early wins fund the next stage.

  2. 2

Set the approval points before building

For every agent we write down what it may do on its own, such as flag, draft, reconcile, and report, and what needs a person, such as changing credit, ownership, quota, or anything that affects pay. We also define when it must stop and escalate because it is unsure. These rules are agreed with sales ops, comp, and finance owners before any build starts.

  3. 3

Build on the tools you already run

Lanshore is tool-agnostic: UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate for RPA, n8n for workflow orchestration, Claude Code and VS Code for agentic development supervised by senior engineers, and direct API or MCP integrations where a platform supports them, as Performio's MCP server does (CaptivateIQ lists its MCP server as coming soon). Custom agents run on commercial AI models under your accounts.

  4. 4

Connect CRM, HR, SPM, and finance

The SPM Operations pillar supplies the comp side: agents that run data loads, validations, and exception queues inside Varicent, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or the other platforms Lanshore supports. The Custom Apps pillar supplies the integrations and approval workflows that move data between CRM, HR, SPM, and finance systems, with validation on every transfer. At a national telecom carrier, a crediting-check agent runs ahead of each monthly cycle and flags orders whose rep, territory, or product crediting does not match the roster and rules. Before the agent, the comp team worked roughly 400 crediting exceptions a month by hand; the agent now resolves about three quarters of them automatically and routes the rest with a suggested fix, so the team touches around 100.

  5. 5

Log every action and hand it over

Every agent action is logged with timestamp, input, output, and approver where one applies, and the log is exportable for SOX or internal audit review. We deliver documented code and configuration that you own, train your team to operate and extend it, and offer managed support if you want Lanshore to run it. At a healthcare services client, internal audit reviewed the automation action log for a quarter of month-end runs: every action was timestamped, attributed to the agent or the human approver, and tied to its input record. Audit closed the review with no findings and asked that the same log format be used for the manual steps that remained.

AI Agents for Sales Operations and RevOps: FAQ

What can AI agents do in sales operations?
Agents handle multi-step operational work that varies too much for a fixed script: checking CRM records before a comp load, comparing credits against the crediting hierarchy and roster, drafting updates for new hires and territory changes, keeping CRM and SPM data in sync, and producing recurring reports. Anything that changes credit, quota, or pay goes to a person for approval.
How are AI agents different from RPA bots in RevOps?
RPA replays fixed steps and breaks when screens or formats change. Agents work toward an outcome, handle variation, and escalate when they are unsure. Lanshore has built both and uses each where it fits, often together: RPA for structured, repeatable steps and agents for the steps that need judgment.
Where do people approve what a sales ops agent does?
At every action that changes who gets credit, an account owner, a quota, a territory, or a payout. Agents can flag, draft, reconcile, and report on their own, but those changes wait in a queue with the evidence and a suggested fix until an owner approves them, and every approval is logged.
Which tools does Lanshore use to build RevOps agents?
Whatever fits your stack: UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate for RPA, n8n for workflow orchestration, Claude Code and VS Code for agentic development, and direct API or MCP integrations where a platform supports them. Lanshore is a UiPath Fast Track Partner.
Do we need to replace our CRM or SPM platform to use AI agents?
No. The agents work alongside the CRM and SPM platform you already run. Most engagements start with an assessment of your current stack to find where agents remove manual work first.
