Best SPM Service Partners Compared for 2026

Doug Erb, Founder & CEO · Published · Last updated

Doug Erb has designed, built and run sales compensation systems since 2000, from Callidus and Trilogy through Varicent, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, Performio and SAP Commissions, and today leads Lanshore's SPM and agentic AI practice.

Key takeaways

  • SPM managed services split into two models, platform support and full comp operations, and buyers should know which one they are buying.
  • Platform coverage varies widely between partners, so confirm that your ICM platform appears on the firm's own published list.
  • Published scope differs in detail, from named SLAs and 24/7 monitoring to one-line service descriptions, and the detail is worth asking for in writing.
  • AI claims range from AI-assisted implementation to agents that run parts of the comp cycle, so ask what the AI does and who approves its output.

The best SPM managed service partner depends on your platform and how much of the comp cycle you want to hand off. Among firms publishing SPM managed services, Canidium, Delbridge Solutions, OpenSymmetry, and WorkCentive center on platform support, IncentiveOps runs the comp function for scaling B2B companies, Deloitte and Spaulding Ridge fit Anaplan- and Salesforce-centered enterprises, and Lanshore pairs platform operations with AI agents.

What SPM managed services actually cover

Go-live is the start of the expensive part. Every year brings new plans, quota and territory changes, vendor releases, and integrations that break when an upstream CRM or HR field changes. The implementation team rolls off, the admin who knew the edge cases leaves, and the cycle starts depending on workarounds. Partners address this in two ways:

Most buyers need some of each, and the contract should name which tasks the partner owns. If you are still choosing an implementation partner, start with our seven questions to vet an enterprise SPM partner.

How we compared

Lanshore is one of the firms compared here. We held Lanshore to the same evidence rule: its entry uses only what Lanshore publishes on its own site.

1. Canidium

What they do. Canidium positions itself as a partner for SPM, CPQ, and revenue operations, with SAP, Xactly, and Varicent among its software partners (alongside Pricefx, Salesforce, and AgentSync). Its managed services page describes "a team of experts dedicated to maintaining and optimizing your software solutions," with proactive issue prevention. It also lists technical health checks, annual sales plan readiness, and staff augmentation as separate services.

Best for. Organizations on SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management, Xactly, or Varicent that also have CPQ or pricing in scope.

Watch out for. The managed services page covers all of Canidium's software practices, not SPM alone. Ask for SPM-specific scope, SLAs, and whether they run commission cycles.

2. Delbridge Solutions

What they do. Delbridge's SPM practice covers incentive compensation, territory and quota planning, forecasting, and analytics, with InfinitySPM, Xactly, Latitude39, and Anaplan named as partners. Its SPM managed services page is one of the most specific we found: administration and user support, plan, quota, and territory change management, commission run support, integration monitoring, release management, and performance tuning, with "clear SLAs and escalation paths." It also commits to documenting plan logic so knowledge does not leave with one admin. Delbridge runs separate FP&A and data and AI practices.

Best for. Teams on a Delbridge partner platform that want a written support scope with SLAs, or FP&A and SPM under one partner.

Watch out for. Varicent, SAP, and CaptivateIQ do not appear on the SPM partner list we reviewed. The AI practice is described in general data terms, not as agents running the comp cycle.

3. Deloitte (Anaplan alliance)

What they do. The 2026 Deloitte and Anaplan alliance one-pager lists joint solutions for sales planning and performance management, territory planning, quota planning, and incentive compensation planning and management. On ongoing work, it states: "For many of our clients, we provide ongoing support of their Anaplan systems and support ongoing enhancements..." It cites Anaplan practices in more than 35 countries and more than 1,000 Anaplan projects.

Best for. Multi-country enterprises that run sales planning and incentives on Anaplan and want them connected to finance and workforce planning.

Watch out for. The published scope is Anaplan-centric. If incentives calculate on a different ICM engine, confirm who supports that side. The one-pager does not describe commission-cycle operations.

4. IncentiveOps

What they do. IncentiveOps says it "designs and runs sales compensation systems." Its Fractional Ownership service runs the full calculation cycle (validation, calculation, output review, anomaly detection, and approval documentation), issues statements, resolves disputes within defined service levels, aligns accruals with Finance's close, and oversees the ICM system. Unusually, it publishes price ranges: $12,000 to $18,000 per month for Fractional Ownership. Its stated best fit is 30 or more quota-carrying sellers without a dedicated comp owner.

Best for. Scaling B2B and SaaS companies that want the comp function run for them, not just the software maintained.

Watch out for. No ICM platform partnerships are named, and large multi-country programs are outside what the pages describe.

5. Lanshore

What they do. Lanshore implements and operates nine SPM platforms: Varicent, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, SAP SuccessFactors Incentive Management, Anaplan, Salesforce Spiff, Performio, Akeron, and Incentivate. Its managed services run comp operations "increasingly with agents doing the repetitive work and our team handling judgment calls, for a predictable monthly fee." In its SPM Operations pillar, agents run data loads, calculation runs, validations, and exception queues, and every agent action is logged with timestamp, input, output, and approver where applicable. Lanshore cites 15+ years of SPM delivery from the US and Latin America. In one published case study, it took over a telecom provider's error-prone Excel commission process as a managed service, eliminating frequent calculation errors without new headcount.

Best for. Teams that want one partner for platform operations and AI agents, particularly on one of the nine platforms or mid-migration between them.

Watch out for. Agent-run operations are newer than traditional admin outsourcing, so ask to see the approval checkpoints and an audit-trail export. Lanshore does not publish 24/7 coverage. At one national telecom carrier, Lanshore reports that agent-run cycle steps cut monthly close time by 74 percent and exceptions worked by hand per cycle from about 400 to about 100.

6. OpenSymmetry

What they do. OpenSymmetry offers strategy, solution deployment, and managed services. Its managed services include SPM Operations, which it describes as "monitoring and functional support to our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year," with proactive monitoring of data loads and batch jobs, plus post-implementation support for enhancements, plan changes, production support, and staff augmentation, with dual-shore options. It lists eleven supported technologies, including Varicent, Xactly, SAP, Anaplan, CaptivateIQ, NICE, Oracle, and Spiff. Its homepage promotes an "AI-enabled implementation approach."

Best for. Enterprises that need round-the-clock monitoring, broad platform coverage, or a partner with offices in Austin, London, and Pune.

Watch out for. The AI positioning we found concerns implementation, not agent-run operations. Confirm that the 24/7 service covers your platform.

7. Spaulding Ridge

What they do. Spaulding Ridge's SPM practice covers territory and quota planning, capacity planning, incentive compensation, and sales crediting, framed as a cycle that connects sales planning to the financial picture. Its managed services are cloud application managed services: issue resolution, a dedicated customer success team with a single point of contact, Center of Excellence support, and customizations, integrations, and upgrades. Its AI services list revenue use cases such as lead-to-cash automation and sales coaching, and it implements Salesforce Agentforce.

Best for. Companies that want SPM tied to finance planning, often on Anaplan or Salesforce, with one partner for several cloud applications.

Watch out for. The managed services page spans all its cloud applications, so ask whether SPM scope includes running commission cycles.

8. WorkCentive

What they do. WorkCentive is a Toronto-based ICM and SPM partner that says "We manage your post-go live opportunities and changes." Its managed services cover one-time or ongoing support, system updates by consultants who already know your model, training, and health checks for slow calculations or a "save or scrap" decision on a troubled build. Its about page shows Varicent, Performio, and CaptivateIQ as supported partners.

Best for. Customers on those platforms who value continuity with the same consultants or want an outside review of an existing build.

Watch out for. No 24/7 coverage, AI offering, or full operations ownership is published.

How to choose

Decide first whether you need platform support or someone to run the cycle, then filter by platform using each firm's own list. Ask finalists for written SLAs, coverage hours, how plan logic is documented, and what handover looks like if you leave. Where AI is part of the pitch, ask what it does in production and who approves its output. Our SPM managed services overview and platform comparison go deeper on scope and platform fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is an SPM managed service provider?

An SPM managed service provider is a firm that keeps your sales performance management platform and process running after go-live. Depending on the contract, that means break-fix support, plan and quota changes, vendor release management, integration monitoring, and in some cases running the commission cycle itself, including calculations, statements, and dispute handling.

What is the difference between SPM platform support and comp operations outsourcing?

Platform support keeps the system healthy: fixing production issues, applying plan changes, and managing upgrades while your team runs the cycle. Comp operations outsourcing hands over the cycle itself: data validation, calculation runs, statements, disputes, and accrual inputs for Finance. Several firms in this comparison offer both, so the contract should state which tasks the partner owns.

Do SPM managed service providers support every platform?

No. Published platform lists range from a single ecosystem, such as Anaplan, to more than ten platforms. Confirm that your platform appears on the firm's own partner list and ask how many consultants currently support it.

How should I evaluate AI claims from an SPM service partner?

Ask what the AI actually does, where it runs, and who approves its output before anything reaches payroll. AI used to speed up implementation is different from agents that run validations or exception queues in production. For the second kind, ask to see the audit trail and the human approval checkpoints.
